Black Stars forward Inaki Williams has stated that Athletic Bilbao’s 2-0 win over Turkish side Fenerbache in Turkey is a “ positive ” one for the club.
He said this in an interview after scoring both goals in the win with his first coming via a tap-in in the fifth minute while his second came off a blister strike that squeezed just under the post from an acute angle in the 45th minute .
His performance had Bilbao head coach Ernest Valverde describes the Black Stars player as an integral member of the team. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Speaking after bagging his third and fourth goals in six games in this season’s UEFA Europa League, Williams reflected on winning in a tough ground.
“The truth is that coming to Turkey and getting this result is very positive for us. We are happy that thousands of fans joined and we hope that you have enjoyed today…because it has been tough. It couldn’t work out better. I think that in the end, going 2-0 up always weakens the opposing team.”
