Mohammed Kudus emerges as the King of Take-Ons in Europe’s Elite Leagues

West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus has emerged as the king of take-ons in Europe’s top five leagues for the 2024 season, cementing his reputation as one of the most electrifying dribblers in football.

In a Squawka football info analytic, The Ghanaian midfielder completed an astonishing 127 take-ons, far surpassing his peers in the rankings. Kudus, known for his explosive pace, silky footwork, and ability to glide past defenders, has been instrumental for West Ham this season, dazzling fans and causing nightmares for opposing defenses.

Trailing far behind him in second place is Barcelona’s 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal, who completed 96 take-ons. The young Spaniard continues to make waves in La Liga, demonstrating maturity and flair beyond his years.

Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich follows closely with 95 take-ons, while Savinho,  from Manchester City, impressed with 92. Milan’s Rafael Leão and Olympic Marseille’s Mason Greenwood both completed 87 take-ons, rounding out the top five.

Manchester City’s fleet-footed winger Jérémy Doku, known for his devastating speed and close control, registered 84 take-ons, placing seventh. Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz completed 80, while Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Las Palmas’ Alberto Moleiro each finished with 76, tied for ninth spot.

Kudus’ performance underscores his growing influence in European football and highlights why West Ham secured his services in a high-profile move. The Ghanaian has become a pivotal figure for the Hammers, combining creativity with a relentless drive to take on defenders and make things happen.

With such a dominant display in this aspect of the game, Kudus has made six assists for the club including against Burnley, Everton, and Liverpool.

Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in August 2023. He has become the top scoring Ghanaian for the club with 13 goals, surpassing André Ayew’s record of 12 goals.
