The Golden Palms have reaffirmed their dominance in African youth sports, successfully defending their African Youth Championship title. After their historic maiden victory on home soil, the team faced immense pressure to maintain their crown and rose to the challenge.

Under the astute guidance of Head Coach Daniel Yaw Atiemo and Assistant Coach Daniel Obeng Asiamah, the team showcased remarkable resilience and unity.

Their journey was far from easy—finishing second to arch-rival Tunisia in the regional qualifiers and arriving last in Cape Town due to financial constraints tested their resolve.

Yet, the Palms overcame every obstacle with unwavering determination.

Despite operating on a tight budget that required coaches and captains to take on additional responsibilities, the team’s focus remained unshaken.

A rigorous three-week training camp was instrumental in addressing weaknesses and refining strategies, ensuring they were fully prepared to reclaim the championship title in Cape Town, just as they had done in Cape Coast.

Their victory stands as a testament to their dedication, the steadfast support of the Government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority, the Ghana Olympic Committee, and the contributions of individuals and the Eastern, Central, and Volta Regional Chapters.

The Golden Palms now set their sights on World Cup glory, determined to make Ghana proud on the global stage.
