Owner and bankroller of Elmina Sharks Football Club, Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum, has chided the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and called for a serious overhaul.

He said this via a post on his Facebook page with his comments coming in the wake of the tragic death of popular Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong popularly known as Pooley, at the Nana Koramansah Park as Nsoatreman FC played Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a Week 19 matchup in the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League.

The violent act is the latest low moment for the Ghanaian league that has been dealing with chronic financial issues, security challenges and officiating controversies.

“The GFA needs a serious overhaul. A few people at the top feed on FIFA money and leave the clubs, referees and players hungry. What are we waiting for? More deaths, bankruptcies and Black Stars losses?” he posted on his page after the Kotoko-Nsoatreman clashes.

The Ghana Police Service has since made three arrests while the GFA, Kotoko and Nsoatreman have condemned the violence. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

With a heavy heart , we announce the untimely demise of our beloved supporter, Frimpong Yaw Francis, whose life was taken by some hooligans at the Nsoatre Park during our #GOLM19 game against Nsoatreman F.C

Our deepest condolences to the family. pic.twitter.com/1jl2RqURj2
