Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey says he is happy that Brighton and Hove Albion teammate Karou Mitoma is still with the team after the latter attracted a lucrative contract offer from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nass in the January transfer window.
The Japan international was reportedly courted by Al-Nassr on a $64 million deal but the offer was turned down by The Seagulls.
Black Stars player Lamptey, said this in a post-game interview after Brighton beat Chelsea 2-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Tariq Lamptey was named as the Man of the Match after delivering a sterling performance from the left full back position.
Fellow Black Stars player Antoine Semenyo was named as the Man of the Match in Bournemouth’s 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park also in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Mitoma scored the winning goal for Brighton by tucking the ball past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after controlling a difficult ball on his chest and Lamptey was full of praise for him.
“It was a fantastic goal, we know what qualities he has a player and he is a great person as well so yeah we are really happy to have him” Lamptey said of Mitoma.

Like Mitoma, Lamptey attracted transfer interest in the recently closed January transfer window; Lamptey was reportedly on Ajax Amsterdam’s transfer radar. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
