Following the success of its inaugural edition, which drew hundreds of young footballers from across West Africa, the West African Talent Hunt is set to expand its reach across the entire continent.

Organised by One World Sports Management Group, the three-day showcase brought together 16 teams made up of aspiring talents eager to impress a high-profile team of European scouts.

The scouting contingent was led by Innocent Okeke, the first Black individual to earn a FIFA license to operate in Scandinavia. Okeke and his team closely monitored the games, seeking the next wave of African stars.

Speaking after the event, Member of the organizers ;  Samuel Anim Addo shared his enthusiasm about the future direction of the Programme.

We are trying to connect the world as a family by creating opportunities, identifying talents and turning them into superstars

With experience all over the world, ultimately taking it global. We are elevating it to ensure that the global market places premium value on our players.

He also adds that this not just a scouting tournament,  the vision goes beyond simply exporting talent.

We are not just discovering and selling them; we are orienting, mentoring and grooming them to ensure that by the time they reach Europe, they are fully prepared

We will also expand to boxing, athletics and other sports as we transform the landscape of sports management in the country.

Standout performers from the tournament will progress to the next phase of the Programme, with the ultimate goal of launching professional careers abroad.
