A technical advisor at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Betty Krosbi Mensah, is bullish about the chances of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team to progress from the group stage at this year’s CAF Women’s AFCON.
The continental championship is taking place in Morocco and commenced on July 5 with the tournament set to conclude on July 26.
Ghana take on defending champions South Africa later on Monday, July 7 and take on Mali and Tanzania in the subsequent Group C games.
The Black Queens haven’t qualified beyond the group stage of the championship since 2016 but Krosbi Mensah is adamant about the team’s chances in this year’s competition.
“I am extremely excited about the upcoming games. I am expecting a very good game [against South Africa], I’m praying that we are able to win the game and qualify to the next level. I believe that we should be able to excel. I have a lot of confidence in the Black Queens” Krosbi Mensah said in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports.
