Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah says she is grateful to play for Ghana after starring in the team’s brilliant display against Tanzania at the ongoing 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON.

Ghana beat Tanzania 4-1 to finish second in Group C and progress to the quarterfinals of the competition for the first time since 2016.

29 year old Boye-Hlorkah starred in the win and scored Ghana’s fourth goal en route to winning the Woman of the Match Award.

Speaking in a post-game interview, England-born Boye-Hlorkah, who made her debut with Ghana’s Black Queens in April this year, expressed how grateful she was to represent Ghana at the highest level.

“Growing up through the England system meant that I was eligible to play for my country of birth but I always knew that I wanted to play for Ghana. I am just so grateful to be here playing for Ghana.”
