Public Relations Officer of Swedru All Blacks, Nathaniel Obeng, has confirmed that the club will use the Swedru Sports Stadium as their home venue for the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

This victory marks a significant milestone for the club, which returns to the Ghana Premier League after a 16-year absence, last featuring in the 2008/2009 season. Swedru All Blacks United Football Club will now compete in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Obeng explained that the club has undertaken extensive renovation works at the stadium, led by the club’s president, Stephen Atto Quayson

We are going to play at the Swedru Sports Stadium as a home venue.

Currently, we are making a lot of preparations. We’ve undertaken major works at the Swedru Sports Stadium led by the club president, who is financing everything.

According to Obeng, the club has secured official approval from the National Sports Authority to carry out renovation works that align with club licensing requirements.

We’ve had permission from the NSA to renovate the stadium to a level where the Club Licensing Board will permit us to host league matches there

In recent weeks, the club has focused on improving the playing surface and installing critical infrastructure, including water storage and irrigation systems.

Over the past month, we’ve been working on the pitch, and we’ve gotten it to a very appreciable level. When the Club Licensing Board came for their first inspection, they were satisfied with the progress,” Obeng revealed.

Dan Kweku Yeboah, former Swedru All Blacks P.R.O and ace sports broadcaster has donated bags of cement to support the club’s effort of renovating Swedru Sports Stadium ahead of the new GPL season.

The donation was presented on his behalf by Eddy Blay – supporters P.R.O.

He also noted that the GFA has provided technical guidance throughout the process and confirmed the club has acquired additional polytanks and irrigation systems to maintain the pitch.

Swedru All Blacks are making a return to top-flight football and are keen to meet all licensing and operational requirements ahead of the new campaign, which kicks off later this year.
