Arsenal Football Club attacker Kai Havertz has picked up a knee injury that could rule him out of action for an extensive period in the early phase of the 2025-2026 season.
British football insider David Ornstein broke the news mere days after the Gunners beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford in its first game of the new season.
Ornstein adds in his report that the prognosis of the injury is in its early stages and Arsenal are still in the market to sign an attacker as cover.
26 year old Havertz featured in the game as a substitute; he played 31 minutes of the contest after replacing recently signed striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Havertz is coming off a 2024-2025 campaign that had him register nine goals and three assists in 23 games in the league.

After signing Gyokeres, Arsenal’s options have improved with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli also on the roster.
Arsenal take on Leeds United next on Saturday, August 23 at 16:30 GMT.
