Amid the ongoing tension between English Premier League side Newcastle United and striker Alexander Isak, the club has issued a statement in response to a social media post made by the player slamming the club.

Isak is at logger heads with Newcastle for blocking a move to Liverpool reportedly and hasn’t been part of the team since it’s pre-season campaign commenced while missing Newcastle’s league season opener against Aston Villa.

Doubling down on his stance, Isak didn’t attend the 2025 PFA Premier League Awards despite being named in the Team of the Year thanks to his 23 goal and six assists in 34 league games stat line last season.

In a post on his Instagram page, Isak criticized Newcastle for failing to honour their promise seemingly regarding a move for the Swedish international from the club.

However, Newcastle have issued a sharp response to Isak’s statement where it has debunked his assertion that a commitment was made by the club regarding his exit from the club.

The club then added that “Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.” Scroll down to read the full statement from Newcastle.
