Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has stated that scoring an outstanding goal in Leicester City’s win was the moment he had been waiting for.
The Black Stars player played his third game in the EFL Championship after recovering from an ACL injury he suffered in November 2024 and scored the winning goal in Leicester’s 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic.
Issahaku picked up the ball and proceeded to bend a vicious shot from just inside the penalty box on the right side into the top corner of the net.
Speaking to Leicester City media after the game, Issahaku was happy with the win and described his goal as the moment he had been waiting for after being out for so long.
“This was the moment I have been waiting for. It was a good time to take it [the shot]. I just want to say that I’m so happy with the team and everyone supporting with my rehab and it’s good to have a moment like this to feel happy” he said.
