Leicester City Football Club manager Marti Cifuentes says it is good for the team to have Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku back in action and enjoying football again.

He said this in a post-game interview after Leicester bagged a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Championship this past weekend.

Issahaku’s brilliant goal proved to be the difference in the game with the young winger cutting infield from the right side before unleashing a powerful curled shot into the corner of the net.

The Black Stars player missed a huge chunk of the 2024-2025 season after picking up an ACL injury while playing for Ghana and Cifuentes believes that seeing Issahaku return to action and enjoying his football is good for the team.

“It is a fantastic goal but I am very pleased first of all obviously happy to see Abdul laughing and smiling and enjoying again.”

“This is good news for him and for the team. The goal he gave us is extra quality, it’s a fantastic strike” Cifuentes said.
