The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it has taken note of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation’s comments regarding the Black Stars’ budget for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and will issue clarifications in due course.
In a statement released on Wednesday, September 2, 2025, the GFA described itself as the custodian of Ghana football and stressed that it will address the issues raised at the appropriate time.
For now, the Association has urged the nation to maintain focus on the immediate task of the World Cup qualifiers against Chad on Thursday, September 4 at 1 pm, and Mali on Monday, September 8 at 7 pm.
“The Black Stars require the unflinching support of all Ghanaians as they prepare for these important encounters. The unity and commitment of our supporters have always been the team’s greatest strength, and we urge the nation to keep this spirit alive,” the statement read.
According to the GFA, a comprehensive response to the Ministry’s remarks will be provided after the Mali match.
The Association also expressed gratitude to the public for their continued support of the Black Stars and all national teams.
