Sweden striker Alexander Isak has delivered an address to Newcastle United after completing his record transfer to Liverpool FC.

Isak signed a six year deal with the Reds for an English Premier League record 125 million pounds with a further five million pounds in add ons should he meet certain clauses.

The former Real Sociedad player helped Newcastle finish fifth in the 2024-2025 season after scoring 23 goals in 34 league games and aided the Magpies win the Carabao Cup at the expense of Liverpool; marking the club’s first domestic trophy win in 70 years.

Isak’s transfer was filled with quite a high level of acrimony that led to Newcastle to issue only a 37 worded statement about his move to Liverpool but Isak delivered far more words on his Instagram page while thanking the club.

“I want to express my gratitude to my teammates, the staff, and above all, the city of Newcastle and all the amazing supporters for the three unforgettable years we shared together.”

“Together, we have written history and brought the club to the place where it truly belongs. It has been an honour to be part of the journey from reaching the Champions League to winning the first trophy in over 70 years. Forever grateful. Thank you, Newcastle.
