Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere-Duah, has stated that the Ghanaian diaspora in the United States of America is heavily anticipating Ghana’s qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Next year’s World Cup takes place in the US, Canada and Mexico with Africa having nine spots in the expanded format of the tournament.

Ghana is in pole position to progress to the 2026 World Cup as the Black Stars lead Group I with 16 points from seven games ahead of a crucial qualifier against Mali on Monday, September 8 at 19:00 GMT.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after returning from the United States, Parliamentarian, Dickson Kyere-Duah shared the message from the Ghanaian diaspora in the US.

“I returned from the United States just yesterday and the atmosphere, the build-up, Ghanaian communities in the US, the appetite, the anticipation to see the Black Stars, to welcome their heroes in the United States is so high that we cannot take that for granted.”
