Jose Mourinho has a new head coaching job after getting appointed as the lead trainer for Portuguese club SL Benfica.
The veteran coach has signed a two year deal to join the club as the replacement for the recently sacked Bruno Lage. Lage’s Benfica lost 3-2 to Kazakhstan side Qarabag and got dismissed after the loss; Lage is a former manager for English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mourinho returns to lead the club he coached in the 2000-2001 season in his first head coaching role after serving as an assistant coach at FC Barcelona.
The man known as the Special One handled Benfica in his first stint for just 10 games but left due to a disagreement with the club’s President.
Jose Mourinho was recently sacked by Turkish Super League side Fenerbache after the team missed out on qualifying to the UEFA Champions League.

In his near two year stay with Fenerbache, Mourinho clashed with opposing head coaches and consistently berated referees in the Turkish league.
