Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has talked about his expectations for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, ahead of the final phase of the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana is slated to take on Central African Republic (C.A.R.) on Wednesday, October 8 at 16:00 GMT in Morocco ahead of its clash against Comoros on Sunday, October 12 in Ghana at 19:00 GMT.
The Black Stars lead Group I with 19 points and need a win in their last two games to guarantee qualification to next year’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and USA.
Speaking to Channel One TV exclusively on the sidelines of the University for Development Studies presentation of the World University Games Football Title to President John Mahama at the Jubilee House, the Sports Minister stated,
“I expect the Black Stars to do nothing but win and win convincingly because we need that win to safeguard our presence…for the World Cup so they must win nothing less from a win that’s what we expect.”

Ghana is looking to compete at the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time in its history.
