Black Stars celebrate qualification to 2026 FIFA World Cup

Ghana has officially qualified to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup that will take place in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.

The Black Stars sealed their place in next year’s world competition thanks to a 1-0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana became the fifth country from Africa to make it to the World Cup; next year’s World Cup is the country’s fifth qualification to the tournament in six straight editions.

Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Mohammed Kudus scored the only goal of the game against Comoros in the 47th minute after capitalizing on a series of errors from the island nation’s backline.

After failing to deal with a cross from Alidu Seidu on multiple occasions, Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey squared a pass deep into the penalty box for Kudus to slot the ball into the net.
