Morocco’s National Men’s Under-20 Football Team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi says nothing beats the feeling of winning the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Ouahbi said this to FIFA media after leading Morocco to beat Argentina 2-0 in the final and win the 2025 edition of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile.

Yassir Zabiri scored twice in the win en route to finishing the competition as one of the top goal scorers with five goals. Teammate Outhmane Maamma was named as the Golden Ball Winner (best player of the tournament).

Speaking after getting the young Atlas Lions to win Africa’s second world title at the juvenile stage and matching Ghana’s feat, Ouahbi said,

“We are not waiting until the 2030 World Cup to become world champions. Morocco will try again in 2026. I don’t think it gets any better than this.”

“We were expecting them to play aggressively, so we had to keep our composure and we did that brilliantly.”
