After replacing Adi Hutter, Sebastien Pocognoli has secured his debut win as head coach of French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
The 38 year old oversaw his team beat Toulouse 1-0 for Monaco’s first win in six games in all competitions that includes a goalless draw against Tottenham Hotspurs in the UEFA Champions League.
Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the third minute when he powered home a header off a Kassoum Ouattara cross.
The goal is the first for Salisu who has endured a largely frustrating start to the 2025-2026 campaign mainly under the recently sacked Hutter.
Operating in the heart of a three man backline, Salisu dominated the game by registering three interceptions, 12 clearances, a recovery, a blocked shot and wasn’t dribbled past in the entire duration of the game.

Fellow Black Stars player Francis Abu made his fifth straight appearance for Toulouse after recovering from a calf injury that delayed his debut for the club after joining from Cercle Brugge in the off-season.

The 24 year old played 66 minutes in the loss to Monaco. Scroll down to watch Mo Salisu’s first goal in the 2025-2026 season
