Minister of Finance Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has stated that an amount of 150 Million Ghana Cedis ($13,668,426 at the time of writing) has been allocated to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team’s participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Ghana has qualified to qualify to the World Cup for the fifth time and next year’s World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.
Addressing the 2026 National Budget to the Parliament of Ghana on Thursday, November 13, the Minister of Finance added that more money had been allocated to sports in the form of the construction of mini stadiums in three regions in Ghana.
“Mr. Speaker [of Parliament Alban Bagbin], an amount of 200 Million Ghana Cedis has also been allocated for the construction of mini stadiums in three regions.”

“Finally Mr. Speaker, an amount of 150 Million Ghana Cedis has been allocated for the Black Stars to participate in the World Cup” Dr. Forson said.
