Black Stars defender Jonas Adjetey has officially joined German club VFL Wolfsburg having sealed the move from Swiss side FC Basel.
Adjetey joins Wolfsburg on a four and a half year deal that keeps him at the club until 2030; Adjetey recently turned 22 and has been featured consistently in Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team recently including 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
At the time of writing, Wolfsburg rank 14th in the 18 team German Bundesliga standings and are hoping Adjetey’s presence aids the club improve defensively after conceding a whopping 42 goals in 20 games and Adjetey is looking forward to get to work right away.
“It means a lot to be in the Bundesliga now and to take this step with VFL Wolfsburg.”

“I’m looking forward to getting started right away and will invest everything everyday so that we can achieve the results we need together” he said in his first official statement.

Adjetey’s move comes at a time the Black Stars will play the 2026 World Cup without Mohammed Salisu due to an ACL injury.
