English striker Ollie Watkins says he is super excited to see out the final phase of the 2025-2026 season after playing a big role in Aston Villa’s latest win in the Europa League.
Watkins scored a brace of goals in Villa’s 3-1 win over Bologna in Italy in the first leg of the quarterfinal tie to place Villa in a great position to qualify to the semifinals.
Villa head coach Unai Emery has won the UEFA Europa League three times and the win keeps him on course for a historic fourth Europa League title win.
Speaking to TNT Sports after getting the brace and win, Watkins shared that he was looking forward to end the season on a high stating,

“We got the goal from the set piece and that kind of took the sting out of the game. They were dominant before that, but just before half time is a great time to score”

“Back end of the season I’m raring to go. I could play another 90 minutes. I’m excited for the next few games. I’m hungry. We have to keep pushing…we’re in a great spot at the end of the season and it’s all to play for.”
