Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, has resigned as Managing Director of Kenpong Travel and Tours’ FIFA 2026 World Cup Project.
In a letter dated Tuesday, May 5, 2026, he confirmed his immediate resignation, citing personal circumstances.
“This letter will serve as formal notification that I am resigning from my position as Managing Director of Kenpong Travel and Tours, responsible for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Project, effective immediately,” part of the letter stated.
Ofosu-Asare exit comes as a surprise given his visible role in driving the company’s World Cup travel operations and mobilising Ghanaian fans to travel to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The packages covered visa support, flights, accommodation, inter-city transfers, match tickets, and guided tours across the three host nations.
The resignation comes just weeks before the tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026, the first World Cup to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Sources, however, indicate that Dr Ofosu-Asare’s exit comes at a time when a number of fans who have partly paid for packages are still awaiting visa approvals.
In his letter, he apologized for the short notice and wished management and staff well.
