Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani has stated the reasons behind Benjamin Asare’s absence in the team’s Ghana Premier League clash against Karela United.
Hearts of Oak drew goalless with Karela at the Accra Sports Stadium to stay third in the league standings but did so without Asare in goal.
Solomon Agbasi started in goal against Karela for the Black Stars goalkeeper who wasn’t named in Ghana’s squad for a pre-2026 World Cup friendly tie against Mexico on May 22. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Quizzed at a post-game presser why Asare was not featured, Didi Dramani said the move was the technical team’s decision.

“It’s a normal rotational we have. It’s important they both stay relevant and also more importantly to try to de-load in terms of giving them in terms of giving them physical and mental breaks we were playing three games in just eight days and that is very important” Didi Dramani said.

Hearts takes on Aduana Stars on May 10.
