After guiding FC Barcelona to win the Spanish La Liga title for the second season in a row, head coach of the club, Hansi Flick has agreed to extend his contract.
The German tactician won his second La Liga title in as many years after Barcelona beat arch rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in the El Clasico.
The win put Barcelona 14 points ahead of Real Madrid with three games remaining in the season though Flick wants his team to win all the remaining games to reach 100 points for the campaign.
Flick who is under contract for next season added two more seasons to his deal but with the second season being an optional one according to the BBC.
“I’m really happy about this. They have given me and my team the confidence to work one or two years more…I really appreciate it a lot.”

“We go to 2028 and then we’ll see if everything is right, and, if so, we can decide on one more year. The club has the right, and I have the right – I think it’s a good deal” Flick said to reporters.

Barcelona take on Deportivo Alaves on Wednesday, May 13 away from home having accumulated 91 points.
