For the St. Gallen shot stopper, this year’s competition is the second in his career after competing with the Black Stars in the 2022 World Cup that was held in Qatar.
Ati Zigi is one of three goalkeepers who made it to the 26 man Ghana squad that will play against England, Croatia and Panama at the group stage.
Benjamin Asare of Accra Hearts of Oak and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick Athletic are Ghana’s goalkeeping options beyond Ati Zigi.
Speaking to GFA media as Ghana continues preparations for its opening game against Panama on June 17, Ati Zigi said,

“As a kid, everyone dreams to play on this big platform and for me, it’s actually a big dream because you get to face big players…it’s a really good experience and I’m looking forward to it.”

“Nervous I think it’s not the word. I feel there is a good team spirit and this shows that everyone is ready” Ati Zigi said.
