Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has named a 27-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as Ghana steps up preparations for the tournament in Morocco.
The squad blends experienced internationals with emerging talent from clubs across Europe and Ghana.
Captain Portia Boakye leads the team, alongside Grace Asantewaa, Princess Marfo, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Stella Nyamekye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Princella Adubea.
The provisional squad also includes home-based players Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, highlighting the continued contribution of the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
The Black Queens are expected to resume camp in the coming days ahead of the tournament.
Ghana has been drawn in Group D and will open its campaign against Cape Verde on July 29 before facing Cameroon on August 2. The Black Queens will wrap up the group stage against Mali on August 6.
All three matches will be played at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca as Ghana aims for a strong return to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
