Morocco has emerged as the top earner among the African teams that competed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the conclusion of its run in the tournament.
The North African nation exited the competition at the quarterfinals stage after losing 2-0 to Morocco marking the second time in a row that Morocco has made it to the quarters.
Its run had Morocco draw 1-1 with Brazil in the preliminary round and beat co-host nation Canada 3-0 in the round of 16 stage to make it to the quarterfinals.
Morocco earned $31.5 million to lead Africa’s 10 team contingent with Egypt ranking second after bagging $17.5 million for making it to the round of 16 stage.
Bar Tunisia, which failed to make it past the group phase to earn $10.5 million in the process, the remaining members of Africa’s contingent bagged $13.5 million after making it to the round of 32 stage.

South Africa, Algeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, Cape Verde, Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana all made it to the round of 32 stage.
