Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard “Olele” Kingson as the club’s new goalkeepers’ coach. (Scroll down to watch the video)
The Phobians confirmed Kingson’s appointment on Monday, July 27, ending speculation linking the former Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic goalkeeper with the role.
He joins the technical team ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, which begins in September. Hearts will open their campaign against Berekum Chelsea on September 5.
Kingson will oversee a goalkeeping department that includes Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who featured in three of Ghana’s four matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Solomon Agbasi.
Agbasi, a former Dreams FC goalkeeper, was also part of Ghana’s World Cup squad, although he did not make an appearance during the tournament.
