United States men’s national team head coach Mauricio Pochettino has extended his contract until 2030.
The four-year extension keeps the Argentine in charge after he guided the team to the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup title and a Round of 16 appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Before agreeing to the new deal, Pochettino had been linked with a return to club management in Europe following successful spells with Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
The former Argentina international said he was excited about the team’s future after signing the extension, stating;
“Working together with U.S. Soccer over the past two years, it has become clear to us that there is tremendous potential to make the Men’s National Team program even stronger.”
“We want to try to have a lasting impact on the sport in the country that has welcomed us so warmly and for that impact to extend beyond results on the field.”
