Ghana defender Abdul Mumin has picked Girona’s playing style as one of the biggest reasons for joining the club. (Scroll down to watch video)
He said this in his first interview after joining the club on a three year deal as a free agent; Mumin joined Spanish Seguna side Girona from Spanish La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
28 year old Mumin spent four seasons at Rayo and had a bright start to his career in Vallecas but the latter half of his run there was marred with injuries that forced him to miss significant time.
In the 2025-2026 season, Mumin played just three games after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury; he recovered just in time to play a bit-part role in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

“I think it’s a club with a lot of history and the type of football that they play is very attractive and I believe that all footballers that want to improve in their professor career, it’s [Girona] is a project they will look up to” he said.
