Coco Gauff has reached the semi-finals of the 2026 US Open after overcoming Mirra Andreeva in a dramatic quarter-final.
The American recovered from an opening-set loss to beat Andreeva 2-6, 7-6(9-7), 6-2, extending a strong run for American players at Flushing Meadows.
Gauff joins fellow Americans Jessica Pegula, Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton in the semi-finals, guaranteeing an American in both the men’s and women’s finals.
Gauff will face incoming world number one Elena Rybakina in the semi-finals on Friday, September 11.
After her victory, Gauff said she was determined not to disappoint the home crowd.
“At the end of the first set I was thinking about Frances and how he came back yesterday. We all want to do well in front of this crowd. Honestly, I was just trying to leave the court with no regrets.”

“I don’t have that fear of disappointing them. I’m just using them and knowing that when I step on this court, they’re still going to have my back” Gauff said.
