Ghana’s Black Spikers have advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2026 mens African Nations Volleyball Championship in Tunisia after securing a convincing victory over Kenya.
The Black Spikers responded strongly after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Tunisia on Wednesday, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Kenya in their second Pool A match.
Ghana dominated the contest from the start and took control of the game with a 25-20 victory in the opening set.
Kenya improved in the second set and pushed Ghana closer, but the West Africans maintained their composure to claim a 25-23 win.
The Kenyans made a strong start in the third set and looked to extend the contest, but Ghana responded strongly to close out the set 25-20 and seal a straight-sets victory.
The result puts Ghana in a strong position to progress from Pool A and continue their campaign in Tunisia.
The 2026 African Nations Volleyball Championship also serves as a qualification pathway for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Championship.
The tournament doubles as a qualification event for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, adding further significance to the competition.
