Tottenham Hotspur forward Mohammed Kudus has reportedly withdrawn from Ghana’s squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
Kudus was named in Carlos Queiroz’s 24-man squad on September 18 after returning to competitive action following a lengthy injury layoff.
The 26-year-old missed Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign after spending about seven months sidelined with injury. He has since made three substitute appearances for Tottenham before starting their Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool.
His reported withdrawal would be a setback for Queiroz, who had identified Kudus as one of the key returnees to the Black Stars ahead of the start of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
However, the GFA has not yet publicly confirmed Kudus’ withdrawal or provided a reason for his reported decision to pull out of the squad.
Kudus’ reported withdrawal also comes after Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi indicated earlier this month that the Ghanaian was still working his way back to full fitness following his lengthy injury absence.

However, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has not confirmed the reported withdrawal or provided a reason for Kudus’ decision.
The development also comes after Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi said earlier this month that Kudus was still working his way back to full fitness following his injury layoff.
Black Stars will open their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign away to Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on September 24 before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29.
The Black Stars will then face Morocco in an international friendly on October 4.
