Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has pegged Ghana’s chances of winning its 2027 AFCON qualification game against Cote D’Ivoire as equal.
He said this at a presser ahead of Ghana’s 2027 AFCON qualification double header against Cote D’Ivoire on September 24 and The Gambia on September 29.
Speaking at his first presser since his re-appointment as head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Queiroz hit back at critics of his style by describing it as the “winning style”. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Despite both nations exiting the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the round of 16 stage, home team Cote D’Ivoire are tipped to win the tie but Queiroz shared a differing thought.
“They-Cote D’Ivoire- are as much good as us so it will be 50-50 so they are good, we are good. Let’s see on the day who can play the best football” Queiroz said.
Appointed just a few weeks to the start of this year’s World Cup, Queiroz guided Ghana past the group stage for the first time since the 2010 World Cup.
