Goalkeeper’s coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Daniel Gaspar, has stated boldly that the Black Stars have the best collection of goalkeepers on the African continent. (Scroll down to watch video)
He made the big claim in an interview with Ghana Football Association (GFA) media during a Black Stars training session.
Ghana is preparing to take on The Gambia in a 2027 AFCON qualifier on Tuesday, September 29 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In the lead up to the game, Ghana lost 2-0 to Cote D’Ivoire while Gambia beat Somalia 1-0 with the results placing Ghana bottom of Group C with Cote D’Ivoire leading.
Lawrence Ati Zigi, Benjamin Asare and Joseph Anang are the Black Stars goalkeepers in camp and Gaspar believes that together, the trio is the best in Africa.
“Fortunate to be back, very grateful to be here. We have three outstanding goalkeepers, in my opinion, I have no doubt it’s the best assembly of goalkeepers in Africa and I believe that, they believe that and we continue on our mission” Gaspar said.
