Sports administrator and Ghana Olympic Committee board member Richmond Quarcoo has been appointed Chef de Mission for Ghana’s delegation to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Quarcoo has extensive experience managing Ghanaian delegations at major international competitions. He previously served as Deputy Chef de Mission at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
He was also Chef de Mission at the 2014 Africa Youth Games in Botswana, the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa and the 2019 Africa Games in Morocco.
Quarcoo served as General Team Manager for Ghana at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and took up the same role at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
A former table tennis athlete and coach, Quarcoo is currently President of the Ghana Squash Association. He has also held several leadership positions in Ghanaian and African sports administration, including President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Deputy Secretary General of the Ghana Olympic Committee and Secretary General of the Squash Federation of Africa.
As Chef de Mission, Quarcoo will oversee preparations and coordinate Ghana’s Olympic delegation, including athletes, national federations and officials, ahead of the Los Angeles Games. The 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles from July 14 to 30, 2028.
