Manchester City have rejected the Premier League Commission’s findings, describing the opinion as “disappointing and surprising” and insisting the club remains innocent of the charges against it.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 29, City said it has “a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence” supporting its position and will pursue all available regulatory and legal avenues.
The club also claimed the Commission’s opinion contains “clear material errors of law, principle and fact” and described it as unsafe.
City said the Premier League’s process remains ongoing, with significant elements yet to be completed, but confirmed it will pursue the available appeal options.
The club added that it has respected due process throughout the eight-year process and expects the Premier League Board and Executive to act as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator. City said it is limited in what it can disclose publicly while the remaining proceedings are ongoing.
