England captain Harry Kane says he remains hungry for more success despite reaching another major milestone in his international career.
Kane equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 appearances for England when he started in the Three Lions’ 3-0 win over Czechia in the UEFA Nations League.
The Bayern Munich striker marked the occasion with two goals, taking his England tally to 91. Kane’s form has also strengthened his case for the 2026 Ballon d’Or after an outstanding 2025/26 season with Bayern Munich.
Despite matching Shilton’s record, Kane says he is not satisfied with what he has achieved and wants to keep pushing for more. Speaking after the game, Kane said:

“To reach the highest level on a consistent basis you’ve always got to be hungry, you’ve always got to be striving for more.”

“I think sometimes players or people can reach the top and think it’s time to take their foot off the gas and that’s when you see players maybe fall.”

“For me it’s the opposite. When I’m at the top it’s to do even more, find even more improvement. That’s what I’m doing right now.”
