Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. has been handed a four-match suspension that could rule him out of the first El Clasico against Barcelona on Sunday, October 25.
The Brazil international is set to miss the clash at Camp Nou, with Real Madrid reportedly planning to appeal the decision, according to football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
If the suspension stands, Vinicius will also miss matches against Sevilla, Racing Club and Valencia.
The winger was sent off for pulling Nathan Saliba’s hair during Real Madrid’s 1-0 La Liga win over Villarreal last weekend. The incident initially resulted in a two-match suspension.
The Spanish Football Federation’s disciplinary committee suspended the Brazil international for “behaving violently … (while) not being in a position to challenge for the ball”.

The disciplinary committee added two matches to the winger’s ban for protesting against the referee after reacting angrily to the decision.
