Berekum Chelsea scored deep into stoppage time to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko at Golden City Park on Sunday, dealing another setback to the Porcupine Warriors’ Ghana Premier League campaign.
Kotoko looked set for an important away victory after Adam Inusah converted a penalty in the 60th minute to put the visitors ahead.
However, the hosts responded five minutes later when Zackaria Fuseini found the equaliser to bring Chelsea back into the contest.
Both sides pushed for a winner, but Chelsea had the final say as Yussif Bayanalabe struck in the 90+1st minute to complete the comeback and secure all three points.
The defeat adds to Kotoko’s inconsistent run of form, with the Kumasi-based side dropping to 10th place in the league standings with 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses
Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, moved up to ninth after claiming a valuable home victory.
Kotoko will now look to respond in their next fixture against Gold Stars, while Chelsea turn their attention to their meeting with Swedru All Blacks.
