Ghana Football Association Vice President, George Afriyie, broke down in tears while speaking about his relationship with his boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Afriyie, last week, declared his intention to contest the GFA presidency in 2019 after Nyantakyi revealed he will not be going for a 4th term.

Afriyie has had run ins with Nyantakyi in the past but the Liberty Professionals capo insists the two have patched up their relationship.

Speaking to Veronica Commey on SpotLite on GTV Wednesday, Afriyie recounted a chilling story of what he has had to endure just for being Nyantakyi’s vice.

“Someone sent a text to Nyantakyi which said, ‘If you appoint George Afriyie as your vice, you will die within two years.'”

The president showed the message to a few people but he never showed it to me. But the good people he showed to told him I could never hurt a fly.

Since that incident, every time I go on my knees to pray, I ask God to protect Nyantakyi,” George said, voice breaking, and tears streaming down his face.

Listen to the audio above for more of the interview.
