WBO Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, has set his sights on furthering his education after becoming world champion last month.

Dogboe defeated American Jessie Magdaleno via an 11th round TKO to become Ghana’s youngest ever world champion at 23.

Dogboe’s historic win over Magdaleno ended Ghana’s seven year wait for a world champion.

The former Black Bombers member, has spoken about the difficulty in combining professional sports with education, and wants to resume schooling as early as September, having already applied to study Sociology.

“I’ve already completed college and I’m now going to university this September. From the beginning its difficult doing both boxing and school work at the same time, because a fight can pop up at anytime.

“So i want to continue school now that I’m world champion, and I’ve applied to study Sociology,” he told Ghanaweb.

Dogboe, who is now under highly acclaimed promoters Top Rank, has two potential bouts scheduled before the end of the year as part of the deal.
