Ghana vs Kenya: Kwadwo Asamoah returns,Owusu gets first call up

Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah has named his 21 man squad for Ghana’s next Afcon qualifier against Kenya.

Ghana will travel to play the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Nairobi at the Moi International Sports Centre.

Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah makes a return to the team for the first time since 2014 while striker William Owusu of Antwerp gets his debut call up.

Goalkeepers:

Lawrence Ati-Zigi (Sochaux France) , Richard Ofori (Maritzburg, South Africa)

Defenders:

Harrison Afful (Columbus USA), Daniel Opare (Antwerp, Belgium) Kasim Nuhu(1899 Hoffenheim,Germany), John Boye (Metz,France) Daniel Amartey (Leicester,England) Andy Yiadom(Reading,England), Nicholas Opoku (Udinese,Italy).

Midfielders:

Afriyie Acquah (Empoli,Italy) Isaac Sackey (Alanyaspor,Turkey) Ebenezer Ofori (New York City FC,USA) Christian Atsu (Newcastle United,England) Edwin Gyasi (CSKA Sofia,Bulgaria) Kwadwo Asamoah(Inter Milan,Italy) Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid,Spain) Frank Acheampong (Tianjin Teda,China), Nana Ampomah(Waasland-Beveren,Belgium).

Strikers:

Raphael Dwamena,(Levante,Spain) Majeed Waris,(FC Nantes,France) William Owusu(Antwerp,Belgium

The team is expected to convene and camp in Adis Ababa from 3rd – 7th of September and then travel to play Kenya on the 8th of September.
