Ghana’s male U-20 football team, the Black Satellites, have qualified for next year’s CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after drawing 1-1 with Benin away from home, going through 4-2 on aggregate.

Jimmy Corblah’s side won the first leg 3-1 in Cape Coast a week ago before making the trip across to Benin for the return encounter.

Benin scored first through Bio Odo Chabi in the second half before WAFA midfielder Prosper Ahiabu pulled parity to share the spoils.

Ghana join Burkina Faso, Burundi, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and hosts Niger as the teams to qualify for the 8 team tournament.

In the previous round, Ghana triumphed 2-0 over Algeria in Cape Coast after the first leg ended 0-0 in Algiers.

The tournament will take place in Niger between 24 February – 10 March 2019.

The top four teams will qualify as CAF’s representatives for the 2019 FIFA U-20 world cup to be hosted in Poland in May.
