Goals from Mohammed Salah and Divock Origi gave Liverpool a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Champions League FInal on Saturday, sealing the Reds’ sixth European title.

Salah scored from the penalty in the second minute of the game with Origi adding a second with three minutes to play.

Mohammed Salah’s second-minute penalty gave Liverpool a narrow lead at halftime putting the Reds in pole position to win the trophy.

The referee pointed to the spot after Mane’s cross struck the outstretched arm of Moussa Sissoko.

Salah, who was substituted in the first half of last year’s final due to a shoulder injury, stepped up and fired into the net, sending the Reds fans at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid into delirium.

The rest of the half went by without much incident with both sides easing themselves into the game following the frantic start.

The two teams were limited to half chances and long-range strikes as both frontlines struggled to test either goalkeeper.

Andrew Robertson came closest to finding another goal when his ferocious strike was tipped over by Hugo Lloris in Spurs’ goal.

In the second half, Spurs who had found it difficult to create chances became more adventurous, testing the Liverpool defence a number of times.

Reds keeper Alisson was forced to make a string of decent saves to keep Liverpool ahead, most crucially from efforts by substitute Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen.

Liverpool had dropped deeper to counter Spurs’ increased threat but remained devastating on the counter.

They eventually sealed the win when super sub Origi fired home after Spurs failed to deal with a corner, handing Liverpool the win and the spot back on Europe’s prestigious throne.
