Ghanaian sprinters, Sean Safo-Antwi and Joseph Paul Amoah have both qualified to the finals of the men’s 100m event at the ongoing African Games in Rabat, Morocco.

But compatriot Benjamin Azamati missed out on a place in the final, finishing 3rd in his semi final event.

All 3 sprinters had made the semis, finishing second 2nd in their respective heats.

In semi final 1, Azamati came finished with a time of 10.43 seconds, behind Gambia’s Ibrahima Camara and Cote d’Ivoire’s Arthur Cisse who finished 1st and 2nd respectively with 10.27s.

Azamati’s time was slower than the 10.32s he recorded during the heats.

Amoah, who ran 10.28s in his heats, coasted through to the finals with a slightly slower showing in his semis, crossing the finish line at 10.36s behind Nigeria’s Itsekiri Usheoritse Ese who clocked 10.25s.

Safo-Antwi meanwhile had to put in a faster time in his semi final to progress to Tuesday’s final. He clocked 10.41s in 2nd place behind Nigeria’s Raymond Ekevwo (10.26s).

The men’s 100m final is slated for 17:05 GMT on Tuesday.
