African Games Day 8: Gemma , Persis miss out on women’s 100m finals

Ghanaian sprinters, Persis William-Mensah and Gemma Acheampong have both missed out on a place in Tuesday’s finals following disappointing races in their semi final events.

In semi final 1, Persis William-Mensah finished 7th with a time of 12.02s, and missed out on any chance of qualifying.

She finished 2nd in her heat earlier in the day to progress to the semis with an 11.76s clocking.

Gemma finished 5th in her semi finals with a time of 11.93s and missed out on the finals line up.

She had also made it to the semis with a time of 11.83s.

The duo will be joined by Hor Halutie and Flings Owusu-Agyepong for the women’s 4x100m relays on Tuesday.
